Wash Day Recap

Recap from Day 85 Wash Day

Process:

  1. Pre-poo’d.
  2. Detangled and cleansed.
  3. Deep conditioned with heat.
  4. Applied leave-in.
  5. Sealed.
  6. Bantu knotted to stretch and dry.

Products:

  • Coconut oil – I have never really pre-poo’d with anything else.
  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner – I used this to coat the coconut oil pre-poo and then detangled and worked the Color Run dye out of my hair.
  • Taliah Waajid Herbal Hair Wash – I cleansed all of the above (plus dirt and product) out with this.
  • Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque.
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Sweet Cocoa Bean Moisturizing Hair Whip – since I just re-upped, I can stop hoarding this and get back to using it.  (Maybe I should just stick buying this… it’s clearly the one I favor)
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Madagascar Vanilla Styling Creme – I’m trying to use all of this up.  Last time I used it was nearly two months ago.  I’m guessing I won’t buy it again.

Product Purchases

A couple of days ago, I got a box of ordered goodies from the CurlMart and forgot to post about it.

Day 78 Product Purchases

In my box o’ goodies:

  • Oyin Handmade Whipped Pudding – one of my favorite products… even though, as I previously mentioned, it gets rotated in on an inconsistent basis.
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Cocoa Bean Moisturizing Hair Whip – so I can stop hoarding the little bit that I have left.
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Daily Leave-In – just re-upped for the sake of avoiding running out.

I got the same three samples as my last CurlMart order… so I guess we’re up to enough to cover about 25% of my hair.

Wash Day Recap

Recap from Day 71 Wash Day

Process:

  1. Cleansed.
  2. Deep conditioned with heat.
  3. Applied leave-in.
  4. Sealed.
  5. Bantu knotted to stretch and dry.

Products:

  • Curls Creamy Curl Cleanser – back to this cleanser.  I like it. 🙂
  • Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque – like I said last week, I don’t LOVE this, but I’ll probably still buy it because it’s convenient and the ingredients are thumbs-up.
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Daily Leave-In – I find myself using this more than the Hair Whip since trimming my hair a couple of weeks ago.  Plus, CurlMart has been inconsistent with the Hair Whip stock so I was hoarding my last little bit.  I did just successfully place an order though… so I’m guessing I’ll get back to that once it’s here.
  • Oil Mix – So I mixed up some of that JBCO that I couldn’t wait to crack open with some olive oil (that’s a total copycat move from Shelli).  I don’t know why I was hesitant to go just straight JBCO… then again, I’ve never gone straight castor oil either.  *shrug*

New Purchase!

Remember that post about how I needed some new gel packs for my Hair Therapy Wrap?  Despite the fact that CurlMart was out of everything else I needed/wanted, I went ahead and ordered my new wrap.  It actually arrived four days ago but I hadn’t gotten around to mentioning it.  My bad.

Day 68 Purchase

I have no faith in those samples.  They wouldn’t even effectively cover 25% of my hair.

Wash Day Recap

Recap from Day 64 Wash Day

Process:

  1. Cleansed.
  2. Applied protein treatment.
  3. Deep conditioned with heat.
  4. Applied leave-in.
  5. Sealed.
  6. Bantu knotted to stretch and dry. (forgot to photograph)

Products:

  • Taliah Waajid Herbal Hair Wash – this didn’t smell anything like I expected.  I guess when I read “herbal” on the bottle, I had a preset idea.  This cleanser wasn’t bad.  Typical foaming, but not the typical sulfate-causing dryness.  I was pleasantly surprised.  I used this instead of the Curls cleanser because I was doing a protein treatment and wanted to apply to thoroughly cleansed hair.  I assumed that this cleanser would achieve that better than a co-wash.
  • ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment –  today made my third application.  And while I’m getting fairly comfortable with the process, I have to say that I’m not a fan of it.  :\
  • Shea Moisture Deep (without the typo this time)Treatment Masque – I picked this up last week at Walgreens and forgot to mention my purchase.  This conditioner is okay.  I’m not a huge fan of the fragrance, but for the price and the ingredient list, I think I can stick it out.
  • Coconut & Castor Oil – I sealed most of the length of my hair with coconut oil and concentrated on my ends with the castor oil since I was bantu knotting.  I’m getting low on the castor oil mix and am looking forward to finally working some JBCO onto my hair.

Wash Day Recap

Recap from Day 57 Wash Day

Process:

  1. Pre-poo’d/semi-detangled.
  2. Washed/conditioned/detangled.
  3. Deep conditioned with heat.
  4. Applied leave-in.
  5. Trimmed (I’ll cover that process in another post).
  6. Roller set to stretch and dry.

Products (no new products this week):

  • Coconut oil
  • Curls Creamy Curl Cleanser – I’m still liking this cleanser a lot.  I almost don’t want to use the other one I bought.
  • Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner
  • Homemade Mix – the famed magical banana and honey mixup
  • Darcy’s Botanicals Daily Leave-In- I used it to saturate my hair for the trim because it’s very light and I figured it would dry faster.  (I figured wrong, but whatever)
